The competition is open to students of the OECS member countries ages 14 to 19.
The entries are judged in two categories: ages 14 to 16 and ages 17 to 19.
Essays must be 750 to 1000 words and must be typewritten, double-line space on letter size paper (8.5 x 11 inches).
The OECS Essay Competition Cover Sheet must be attached to each essay before submission.
The essays are assessed for content, soundness of points, logical development, knowledge of the subject, command of language and presentation.
Children or wards of the ECCB management and staff are not eligible to enter the competition.
Essays must be written on one of the topics listed below.
