Experience the Region’s Vibrant History and Culture in One Day

Basseterre, St Kitts, 26 May 2010

An interactive tour of the OECS/ECCU Exhibition Centre has been launched by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. More than just an artistic showcase, the tour, which is available on the Bank’s website www.eccb-centralbank.org, provides an educational forum, that promotes greater understanding of, and appreciation for, the countries of the OECS.

This e-tour provides visitors with a unique regional experience. Visitors are able to partake of the vibrant history, culture and institutional framework of the region embodied in the visual imagery, as well as text explanations and descriptions of the region’s past and present achievements.

The OECS/ECCU Exhibition Centre was opened on 16 February 2006 in honour of the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Basseterre, the agreement which established the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). The focus was to create a tangible commemoration of the efforts of the people of the nine member countries that make up the OECS.
